Short Vase with Feathered Trail in Blue

This hand blown glass vase in blue is made using a traditional venitian technique called feathering. Feathering happens when you wrap the coloured glass with a molten trail, which is wound in a spiral around the glass. The spiral is then combed upwards with as metal tool which creates sequence of waves that replicate a feather trapped within.
